The Veils
- What size is the veil?
- Every Mariel Veil is 110 cm wide and 50 cm long — about 43" × 20" — with a tolerance of ±5 cm.
- It is a triangular mantilla, cut to cover the head naturally with the side lines falling softly past the shoulders. One size fits everyone.
- What is it made of?
- Nylon and polyester jacquard lace, woven by TEXMA in Korea.
- The pattern is created in the weave rather than embroidered onto finished mesh, which gives it more definition and a slight three-dimensional quality.
- Which colour should I choose?
- White and ivory are the traditional choices for baptisms, first communions and weddings. Black is worn widely at daily Mass outside Korea.
- The colour veils follow the Church's own associations — blue for Our Lady, red for the Passion and the Holy Spirit, purple for Advent and Lent, green for hope and eternal life.
- There is no wrong answer. Choose the one that suits your own devotion.
- Do you sell any other sizes or shapes?
- Not at the moment. Every veil in the collection shares the same triangular cut and dimensions; only the lace pattern and colour change.
Ordering
- Do I need an account?
- No. Checkout is available as a guest, and we will email you a link to track your order.
- What currency are prices in?
- All prices are in US dollars. Your card issuer will convert to your local currency at their own rate.
- How do I pay?
- We accept international credit and debit cards, and PayPal.
- Can I change or cancel my order?
- Email us as soon as you can. If the parcel has not shipped yet we can change or cancel it without any charge.
- Once it is with the postal service you will need to follow the returns process instead.
Shipping
- Where do you ship from, and where to?
- Every parcel ships from Yangpyeong, Korea. We deliver worldwide.
- How long does delivery take?
- Standard shipping usually takes 7 to 14 business days. Express takes 3 to 7.
- Orders are dispatched within 1 to 2 business days of payment.
- Will I have to pay customs duties?
- Possibly. Duties and import taxes are not included in the price and are collected by your local customs authority on delivery.
- The amount depends on your country's rules, which change from time to time. We cannot calculate or prepay it on your behalf.
- How much is shipping?
- Standard shipping is free on every order, anywhere in the world, with no minimum.
- If you need it sooner, checkout offers an express upgrade. You pay only the difference in postage, since we put the free standard rate towards it.
Returns
- Can I return a veil?
- Yes, within 14 days of delivery, provided it is unworn and in its original gift box.
- Return shipping is at your cost unless the veil arrived damaged or we sent the wrong item.
- What cannot be returned?
- Veils showing signs of wear, snagged or torn lace, marks from perfume or cosmetics, and damaged gift boxes.
- Lace does not recover once it has caught on something, which is why we are strict about this.
- How long do refunds take?
- We refund to the original payment method within 3 business days of receiving and inspecting the return.
- Your bank may take a further few days to post it.
Care
- How do I wash it?
- Hand wash in cold water with a mild detergent, pressing gently rather than rubbing.
